Where at black dog to you find you get the best views? It's a big place.

Kirk, actually the swamp to the north of the lake, on your right as you come down from Cedar Ave, seems to be the best spot that I have found to get some close up looks. It is actually part of Fort Snelling State Park. I hope that helps.

We found a dead American Coot on our afternoon walk yesterday. Nowhere near any water and with some sort of abdominal injury. I was sorry to see it dead, but it gave me a good chance to examine this little bird up close. It's legs and feet were especially interesting to see.

Well Ruthie even though coots look like ducks they aare actually in the rail family which is why they have toes instead of webbed feet.
