Thousands of geese spend each winter down at the Bosque del Apache in New Mexico. While they are at the Bosque they spend their nights on the shallow pools that dot the refuge. These pools provide some safety from many of the land based predators.
Each morning the geese fly out in large groups, as the sun rises, to search the nearby fields for any remaining grains or seeds. This pic was taken in January of 2007.

This is beautiful. I've seen the geese in the Bosque in Albuquerque, but never had the opportunity for a photo like this.
Great shot! Always fun to watch large groups of snow geese!
Wonderful post
It really is fun to watch geese arrive or take off in groups, isn't it?
Well done....Happy SWF!
I love watching the groups of birds fly overhead! This is a very pretty photo!
That is a great shot of the geese. You captured their flight so well and also the lovely clouds and sky.
So this is their morning commute. How lovely.
What a beautiful photo. I love the previous ones as well - all are great photos.

I'm looking forward to see the geese flying in a V-formation over my roof again. Soon....

Great in-flight photo. Wonderful capture.
Love our Canada geese on the ground or in flight as you have captured so well. Here in my land of ice and snow there are many that just sit around on the snow..with blowing chilling winds..then into the frigid water they swim!! Brrrr....
I could hear them honking.
Nice capture and sky.
