Things here in Minnesota are starting to look a little better. Last weekend we had our first 40+ degree day and this weekend the temps might make it back up there again. The rivers are starting to thaw a bit and open up and we are starting to see some of the waterfowl returning. I can't get my hopes up to high, because it will be a good month or more before things really begin to thaw out but these sunny 30+ degree days that we have been having are making many people think of spring.
So here I give you some more memories from last summer to help tide us all over until the world of white departs for another year.
These are pictures that I took in South Dakota in August. Although nothing pictured here can not be found fairly commonly in Minnesota.
I like to take pictures of frogs and toads. Toads have such a unique texture to them and I have always been kind of fascinated with photographing texture. Frogs are pretty smooth but have great color and some really cool eyes.
Since spring is not that far away I am going to have to try and post some more of my back log of 2008 pics. With over 100 posts worth of pics, and some new pics that I have taken so far this year, I have a lot of work to do to get them all posted before it gets nice and I begin snapping hundreds of shots per day again. Plus I am hoping to get the initial version of my website out with in the next couple of months. It will take a while to get it to where I want it, my ideas are pretty ambitious, but I would like to get it at least started before the summer. So stay tuned.
Those are great shots. I like frogs also. Helen
ReplyDeleteI really admire your photography. Best of luck with the website: keep us posted as to those 'ambitious plans' as they develop!
ReplyDeleteI love frogs and toads and you got some great photos...
ReplyDeleteI love the pictures of the frogs and toads. All of your photos have inspired me to get a magnifying lens for my camera so I can try photgraphing things besides bird this spring and summer.
ReplyDeleteYour photos definitely make me appreciate the frog and toad textures!
ReplyDeleteEven though I don't like grasshoppers, I like the first picture. I like frogs and toads too.
ReplyDeleteA lovely variety of hoppers!
ReplyDeleteThese are wonderful shots. I don't get to see many frogs. Spring will be here before you know it. :-)
