I have some butterflies posted this week too. We don't see Monarchs till late August and September.

It's wings markings make it look like stained glass,
the previous commenter beat me too it on the stained glass idea. ;-)very nice..especially for a bug.
As Monarchs go, this one is too hot. I'd canned this one for warmer lighting. Then again I tagged Monarchs every day for 3 months back in 2005 and had dozens of shots to cull though each day.

Another great monarch shot. This one does look a little bit lighter, but I do recall seeing that on a lot of monarchs - lighter on the underside.
