Native Aster

Asters are a pretty common wild flower in this part of Minnesota. We have a number of different types of asters that are native to this area including New England, aromatic, silky, smooth blue, purple-stemmed and heath. All look pretty similar, except for the heath which is white, So I am not certain which type is in the photo above which I took at the Richardson Nature Center.

  6. These flowers can be found here in Singapore too and it can bloom all year long due to our hot climate. I 've always love that particular shade of purple.

  7. Beautiful photo. I posted an aster too. But I called it New England, which now I am sure it is not. NE Asters bloom later in summer. And my flower book that sets me straight on all of this is packed away from when we moved. And the Internet has been no help, not like my book. I should've said like you that I didn't know which.
