Six-spotted Fishing Spider

To some people walking on water is a miracle but the the six-spotted fishing spider its just another day at the beach. The six-spotted fishing spider is found in wetlands of North, Central, and South America. They are semi-aquatic spiders with good eye sight that do not rely on webs to catch their food. Instead they can walk out on the surface of the water where they catch aquatic insects and larva, tadpoles and small fish. They are called the six-spotted fishing spider because they have six spots on the underside of their cephalothorax.
