Skywatch: Maui

Since I have still been working on scanning my film from out 2002 trip to Hawaii I decided to post a couple more Hawaiian Skywatch pics this week. I believe that these are pics of the Maui shoreline that we took from a whale watching boat while we were out looking for humpback whales.
If you look closely you can see a small rainbow. This is formed by the refraction of the light through the water vapor molecules inside the clouds.

  17. I'd love to go back to Maui. I think it is as close to the Garden of Eden as you can get these days.
Beautiful photos and great catch of the rainbow. I think Maui has more of those than anywhere else. While on a helicopter tour there we saw a circle rainbow -an entire 360. It was great, although a little disorienting when the copter pilot did the 360 to show us!
