This unique looking wildflower is blue vervain a native perennial that is usually found in damp habitats, such as ditches or near the shore of rives and streams. I photographed this vervain on the shore of Snake River. There is another form of vervain in this area called hoary vervain which has a larger flower and is usually found in dryer habitats.
It is so pretty! Really dresses up the landscape! ~karen

ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful wild flower - If you had not mentioned that it was a wild flower I would have said that it looks ever so similar to the Verbena that grows in my UK garden.

ReplyDeleteBeautiful colour on this wildflower. Wild Chickory grows along our roadways and it is just about the same colour. It seems there are several wildflowers this time of year that are in the same colour range. Have a wonderful week, stay safe~
