Campanula rotunifolia, or harebell, is a native member of the Campanulaceae or bellflower family. They are also sometimes called bluebells.
They are a very hardy perennial that is often found growing in dry nutrient poor soil. These were photographed in the sand plains at Crex Meadows. I have also seen these plants growing from rocky cliffs up at the north shore of Lake Superior.
A very beautiful little wildflower. Love how the stigma cast a shadow on the petal.
