Flower Purgatory Creek

This is Philadelphia fleabane, a native member of the Aster family which I photographed at Purgatory Creek.

Such a lovely bouquet. I know many wild flowers got their names because of the shape of their leaves, etc. Do you suppose fleabane was thus names because it keeps away fleas? Our flowers got hammered with wind and salt during Earl's visit. ~karen
