Calico Bush


I photographed this calico bush (Lantana horrida) in the Rio Grande Valley in Texas.

Oh the common name is new to me. Here in India, where it is considered an aggressive weed, it is known by the scientific name Lantana. It was brought to India as a garden plant and is now found dominating the forests of Southern India.

Wow, rich colors and a great shot. It is beautiful here in the USA ... too bad it is crowding out native plants in India. Man seems to have a problem with letting things grow where they naturally grow ... hmmm. Love the picture :)
