Snowy Morning

Weather can be some what unpredictable in Yellowstone. You never know when you might get hit with a snow storm, even at the end of May. After almost getting stranded in the park the day before we left, due to snow, we went to leave the next morning and found that the only road that was open was the one that led to Old Faithful. Since we wanted to get going as soon as possible so that we could hit a location or two on the way home we ended up taking the back route. The state highway that runs from West Yellowstone to Bozeman, MT was in good condition so we took that route. The highway does cut through the west edge of the park so we did get to enjoy some of the snowy scenery on our way out.

A very pretty view even if snow was not predicted for almost summer. Thanks for sharing with SWF.

So beautiful! Looks crisp and cold! With the heat down here in West Africa, I would actually fancy an dip in that icy river!!

It is not unusual for our area of the province, Alberta, to receive snow May long weekend but I didn't think Yellowstone would too. Glad you had the opportunity to capture it!
