Tall Buttercup

Tall buttercup is an invasive species that originated in Europe. The buttercup family gets its name from the yellow, butter, color of the blooms.
Every time that I see buttercups I am reminded of the movie The Princess Bride. Directed by Rob Reiner this has to be in the top 5 funniest movies of all time. The reason why the flowers remind me of the movie is because the princess in the story is named buttercup.

I love the buttercups.
Have always some in my garden.
They are opportunistic colonisers, and considered as garden weeds.

Great pictures!!
Have a nice Sunday.

Wonderful shots of the buttercups! I think this shade of yellow is a challenge to capture well..and you DID IT!

The population of these seems to be diminshing around here. I hardly ever see them. Nice capture of the flowers.

I love buttercups. They remind me of my childhood when we made buttercup necklaces.

Buttercup is such a sweet name. I didn't realize it was an invasive plant. If a plant inundates you, it might as well be pretty!
