How about some sneezeweed (Helenium autumnale) for this weeks Today's Flowers. I am guessing that the autumnale portion of the scientific name is no coincidence since these things bloom like crazy in the late summer and early Autumn. I photographed this flower at Purgatory Creek.

A great flower for late season colour. I don't know why it's called sneezeweed though as it isn't known to create that reaction (not a common allergen).
Oh my! The flower is lovely.. so is the shot. It's beautiful. =) Nice capture!
Here's my entry. Hope you could visit, too..

Lovely flowers with an unfortunate name! But the place where they grow has also got a forbidding name:)
I can see how these flowers look like they could produce alot of pollen to create sneezes.
But the weed part is not fitting, they look beautiful to me.
This is a great garden plant that is under used around here. Also comes in an orange and red version.
Haha! Amazing to find a bright, sunny, beautiful flower at a place called 'Purgatory Creek'!
Woof! I knew there is something good in purgatory. Maybe some dogs live there too.
Que amarelo intenso! Simplesmente lindo!
