Today's Flowers: Prairie Coreopsis

I believe that Today's Flower is a prairie coreopsis. This wildflower is a member of the Aster family that is native to Minnesota. It is usually found in places with a lot of sun and blooms in late spring or early summer. I photographed this one a few months back at Dodge Nature Center.

Lovely. Although we have plenty of sun, they just won't grow here worse luck.

It's a gorgeous flower, we have lots of that here, I didn't know of it's name though. Now I know.
