Here is a pic taken from the west portion of the northern loop in Yellowstone National Park. At this point you are pretty close to Swan Flats and Mammoth is only about another 10 to 15 minute drive.

It is hard to imagine that the giant caldera building up under Yellowstone will blow as it has in the past before people lived here and when it does much of this country will be destroyed. Talk about disasters. Yellowstone will no longer be thought of as a place of beauty.
Abe feels despondent yet we can still enjoy the beauty while it lasts, we too will be no more one day but it pays no toll to dwell upon the end of our journey while we still have so many beautiful bends in the road to be glad of.

Funny, but the sky doesn't really capture my attention in this beautiful scene! What a view!
Glad you're enjoying Jellystone! Did you get the snow showers there yesterday?
I lived in Montana for 3 1/2 years and went to Yellowstone a couple times. Beautiful down there!
