Only the Turtle Stands Between the Darkness and the Light

 Turtle Reflection
Even though the turtle and the log are the central subject of this photo it is the reflection of light and shadow on the water that makes this pic interesting to me. The turtle and the log seem to separate the band of light from she shadows extending from the reflection of the turtles head.

That is a very interesting shot, mostly because last week with some friends we dicussed about the infatuous people had in the 80's for those little tortoises that don't stay little, and how people threw them anywhere in France and other places in the world (from sewer, via their toilet flush to lakes and river) cause a big ecological disaster, specially in France where this turtle adapted very well, taking the place of local species that are nowadays disapearing with this competition...

I hate how fashion dictate us the worst about un-humanity.

Great reflection of that turtle. As a birder, have you seen the movie The Big Year? It is a comedy about birding starring Steve Martin.

Hello. Your photographs are all terrific, so sharp and clear.

The turtle seems to be such a "simple" little subject matter, but the photograph is so appealing with the reflections. It's very peaceful feeling.

When I saw the thumbnail it looked quite prehistoric! In full size it's just stunning - because everything works!! FAAAABULOUS!
