I photographed this osprey flying from the nesting platform at Lilydale Park last spring. At this point they were just copulating and had not settle down on any eggs. I spent a lot of time watching osprey nests last year.
I love ospreys. We see them here in Florida and on the other coast when we visit Oregon. Always a happy moment when I spot one. Lovely picture (and the sky is beautiful too!)
Tony, we call it the Lilydale nest but it is actually probably a little east of the park. The platform is located on an island that is just west of the high bridge. It is best viewed from Sheppard Road on the St Paul side.
