Reflection

For me the coolest part of photographing water is the reflection. It is not always easy to get a good reflection. The wind needs to be calm otherwise it will fill your reflection with ripples. The right light is also very important. When shooting something in the water you often can't just walk around it to get a better angle of light. When things do come together though it can help make a rather ordinary picture of a damselfly look cool.

Wow what a perfectly captured photo. I love shots of water you are never quite sure what you will get and dragonflies are so beautiful.

Thanks for the post.

Concur! Great shot of the dragonfly over the water. This is a case where you DO NOT want a polarizing filter.
