More Trumpeter Swans at Monticello

Here are some more pictures that I took of the trumpeter swans in Monticello.

It sure did not take long to fill up an 8 gb card. This is good because I was only able to stay a couple hours then I had to leave because I came down with the flue. I spent the next couple of days at home in bed.

It is very cool to see all the swans gathered together. The park where they feed the swans is pretty easy to get to. If you are in Minnesota and want to visit just take 94 to Monticello, that would be west if you are heading out from the Twin Cities, and take the County Road 39/Riverview Drive exit north. As Riverview Drive begins to curve east following the river look for a dead end called Mississippi Drive on your left. Turn on Mississippi Drive go down a couple of blocks and the park will be on your right. I am not sure how much longer the birds will be around with spring on its way. This last trip there were only about half as many birds as my first trip. That still left me 600 to 800 birds to photograph.

Thanks for the repeat of the directions. I really MUST get over there and see them.
Your photos are so lovely. The lighting on those pure white wings- corny as it sounds, they make me think of angels.

I hope that you were able to make it up to see the swans Lynne. We should be seeing large flocks of tundra swans moving through soon on their spring migration.

They almost look like porcelain, that's how clear these shots are and how white their feathers. Thanks for sharing. :)
