These orange bits of smth on this butterfly's wings look strange. I wonder what are they? Don't look like a normal pigment to me.. although I'm not too good at butterflies )

Nice capture, very detailed. I did notice the orange/brown on the wings, is that common?

Although I have a 100mm macro lens most of my butterfly and dragonfly shots are taken using my 100-400 mm lens with an extension tube.

The orange color on the wings is most likely pollen that collected on the butterfly as it was drinking nectar from a different flower.

His wings are spread just right - beautiful! I am going thru my flower book right now to pick out ones that will attract butterflies this year.
